The idea of a brainwave mp3 or a binaural mp3 being used during meditation is nothing new. The concept actually goes back many many years. Â While the effects have warranted a few studies here and there it has not been studied in extensive depth. This raises an interesting question; can a brainwave mp3 hurt you?
First we need to understand exactly what a brainwave mp3 is. It is also called a binaural mp3, brainwave entrainment, binaural meditation or the use of binaural beats. They all basically mean the same thing. It is the practice of using a frequency specific tone or beat played through headphones. The concept is that the tone or beat will stimulate one area of the brain. This then allows one to focus specifically on the area or feeling of the brain that the binaural mp3 is targeting.
The frequency is crucial in this process.  They have to be in an exact range to achieve the desired effects. Problems arise when people try to obtain free binaural mp3s or imposter recordings. Since the recordings are not exact and recorded on subpar equipment the result is…well no result at all.
This type of meditation is very useful when one is trying to focus on one of their seven chakras. Chakra meditation requires a visualization of one area of the body in an effort to become more in tune and balanced.
Since the use of a good brainwave mp3 relies on the electrical activity of the brain itself there really are no risks involved. Of course if one has a known history of seizures or some other electrical impulse disorder they should probably not try brainwave entrainment.
So through all of our research and personal experiences we have only found that a brainwave mp3 can do a lot of good. We have tried and now swear by using binaural mp3s for all chakra meditation and we also adore a pre sleep mediation session.
If you are curious and would like to try some out we recommend the leader in Brainwave Entrainment digital downloads. We use their files on a regular basis and also recommend them because they offer a guarantee behind their recordings and a free sample as well. Step into a whole new world of meditation and give a brainwave mp3 or a binaural mp3 a try!
